Indian Engineering Services IES Exam

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts Engineering Services Examination (ESE) for recruitment to the Indian Engineering Services (IES) including Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. The Engineering Services Examination (ESE) is conducted for selection of best engineer candidates in organization of India like Central Engineering Service (CES) , Military Engineering Services (MES) and Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE) etc.

About Indian Engineering Services ( IES )

Indian Engineering Services ( IES ) is also the part of civil services of India. Indian Engineering Services is responsible of the managing technical function of the Government of India. We all knows that Government of India recruit its civil servants on the basis of merit list of competitive examinations. There are large number of candidates who gives these competitive exams for getting selected for one of the best civil services.
Indian Engineering Services (IES) officers are selected by the Central Government of India on the recommendations of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) . The competitive exam for IES is a combined entrance exam of 4 stages conducted by the UPSC. The combined entrance exam of IES is also know as Engineering Services Examination (ESE). The Union Public Service Commission conducts Engineering Services Examination every year for recruitment of candidates to the Indian Engineering Services.

Eligibility For Engineering Services Examination (ESE)

The Eligibility criteria for Indian Engineering Services ( IES ) are following :
Nationality : Candidate should be a citizen of India.

Education : Candidates should have a degree in Engineering from a recognized University or its equivalents. Those candidates who are in their final year of engineering degree and equivalent are also eligible for IES or ESE.

Age : Candidates ages should be between 21 to 30 years as on 1st January. Age relaxation for candidates are also available as per the government rules.

Last Date to Apply: 25 March, 2016
Date of Exam: 27 May, 2016

Pattern of Engineering Services Examination ( ESE )

The IES competitive exam consists of two part. The Part 1 paper comprises of only objective type questions and Part 2 paper comprises conventional Papers. The UPSC covers entire syllabus of IES for the competitive ESE exam. Candidates need to clear the written ESE examination for next phase of exam that is personality test conducted by the UPSC .
