Indian Forest Services (IFS) Examination

Indian Forest Services is one of the Civil Services of India which comes under the All India Services like the Indian Administrative and the Indian Police Services. Every candidates who are inspired to become IFS and join forest services then the candidates has to appear for Civil Services Examination which is conducted by UPSC. Like Indian Administrative Services, Indian Forest Services Examination is also conducted by the UPSC every year.

The Indian Forest Services Examination is same as Administrative and Police Services for which candidates has to appear in the Civil Services Preliminary Examinations and the candidates who qualify the Preliminary Examination goes for second phase of Indian Forest Services Main Examination and selected candidates are called for Interview.

Last Date to Apply: 27 May, 2016
Date of Exam (Prelims): 7 August, 2016 (CSAT)
IFS Main Exam: 12 November, 2016

Eligibility Criteria For Indian Forest Services (IFS) Examination

Education Eligibility : Candidates who want to apply for Indian forest service must have degree with at least one of subjects.These subjects are Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering.

Age Limit For Indian Forest Services (IFS) Examination

Age Limit : Your age must be between 21 years 32 years on 1st August of the year of exam. Upper age limit is relaxable in some cases.
Number of Attempt : Age of candidates should be between 21 and 32 years on 1st august of the year of exam. The age relaxation is available for those candidates belonging to any any categories.

Pattern of Indian Forest Services (IFS) Examination

The Indian Forest Service (IFS) comprise of three phase : Preliminary, Mains and Interview.Candidate has to appear and clear every phase to get into next phase of Examination.The IFS exam has 6 paper in which two paper are of 300 marks and 4 paper are of 200 marks each.
